Please join us at our special 2011 CAPA Annual Gala to celebrate the arrival of the year of Dragon at China Garden (1100 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22209) on January 21 (Saturday), 2012 from 6:00-9:30 PM.
This special gala event is also to celebrate two significant historical occasions:
• In celebration of the 36th anniversary of the Chinese American Professional Association of Metropolitan Washington D.C. (CAPA, 華府國建聯誼會)
• In commemoration of the 100th birthday of the founding of the Republic of China (ROC)
The highlights of the Annual Gala will include the following:
• Introduction of the 36th CAPA Anniversary Book entitled “Evolution and Impact of the Chinese American Professionals Association of Metropolitan Washington D.C. (CAPA) (華府國建聯誼會的演變和影響)”
• Special Awards to retired 2011 CAPA EC and Advisors and a Lifetime Achievement Award to our outstanding past President, Dr. Wu-lang Lee.
• A variety of entertainment programs including singing, dance exhibitions and a Chinese classical opera. These entertainment programs will be performed by some of Washington DC’s celebrities, including Edward Chen, Ta-Tung Chang, Ching Sung Chin, etc.
All CAPA members, their spouses and friends from other Chinese American organizations are welcome to join our celebration. The ticket price is $30 per person, which includes an 8-course Chinese banquet dinner, souvenirs and unlimited wine. In appreciation of your attendance at the 2011 CAPA Gala event, all attendees will receive a free copy of the 120-page CAPA 36th Anniversary book.
Because of the historical significance, this year’s CAPA Annual Gala will likely to attract more participation not only from CAPA members but also from many other Chinese American organizations in the Washington DC area. At present, over 100 tickets have already been sold.

Celebration Dinner Meeting
On October 25, 2011, 26 people attended a special dinner meeting held at Tony Lin’s to discuss various CAPA programs and activities. After a very successful 2011 CAPA Annual Symposium held on September 24, 2011, this meeting served as not only a celebration party, but also a strategy session for soliciting ideas and suggestions.

Dr. Wallace Loh’s Keynote Speech at the 2011 CAPA Annual Symposium
One of the highlights of the 2011 CAPA Annual Symposium held on September 24 was the keynote speech delivered by Dr. Wallace Loh -- the first Chinese American who serves as the President of the University of Maryland in the school’s 155-year history.
